Nickelodeon Live (Germany)

Nick Germany is a private TV channel for children. The name Nickelodeon is borrowed from the English name of the first American cinemas, which were called nickel odeons because of the ticket price of five cents (= 1 nickel) (Odeon, originally a Greek-covered theater). The term Nickelodeon was also used for jukeboxes and pianolas that were operated by inserting coins. There are around 30 offshoots of Nick worldwide, including in Germany again since September 12, 2005, and in Austria a year later.
