Bein Sports Haber is the first and only unencrypted sports channel operating under the beIN Media Group, which started broadcasting on July 5, 2017. Mehmet Emin Karamehmet bought the television channel, which was broadcasting under the name Işık TV in 2000, for the Digitürk platform and decided to change its name to Lig TV in 2001 in line with the joint decision taken with Şansal Büyüka. The channel, which has purchased the licenses of many sports broadcasts, especially the Super League, has been the biggest sports channel for years. From 2001 until 2013, the channel, whose management was in the hands of Çukurova Holding, was seized by the SDIF due to its debts. The channel, which was managed by the SDIF between 2013-15 and held the Super League broadcast license during this period, was acquired by beIN Media Group, one of the largest media companies in Qatar, in 2015. While the company continued its activities in Turkey under the name Lig TV for two more years after the transfer, it made a radical decision and decided to change the name of Lig TV and all its sub-channels to beIN Sport on January 13, 2017. After this change, the channel, which could only be watched for a fee via Digiturk for years, launched its first and only unencrypted channel and on July 5, 2017, beIN Sports Haber channel was launched. The beIN SPORTS Haber channel, which is broadcast unencrypted and hd on Turksat 4A, offers sports fans broadcasts on all sports branches at all hours of the day. The beIN SPORTS News channel, which has an agreement with the S Sport channel, where English Premier League matches are broadcast, also shares live broadcasts of overlapping competitions with the audience. While the wide summaries of Super Toto Super League matches broadcast on the channel are watched with interest, the channel, which also broadcasts THY Euroleague Basketball competitions, has started to receive positive reactions from the audience. beIN SPORTS Haber is taking firm steps towards becoming the most watched sports channel among other sports channels thanks to the special competitions it offers free of charge and without password.
